The activation of the 18 member Alpha Pledge Class on March 23, 1975 marked the beginning of Epsilon Chapter. The following fall, a total of 24 brothers occupied the house at 502 South Johnson Street in Ada and enjoyed the fellowship in very cramped quarters. The first few years were met with uncertainty of the fraternity’s role in the Ohio Northern community. Concerns of the Brotherhood swayed from being a strong service oriented group to a more conservative Christian Brotherhood. Recent years have shown more of a balance among all three of the fraternity’s program areas. The Brotherhood at Ohio Northern University grew steadily over its first ten years to an average yearly total of 35-40 members. Today, the number remains steadily between 25-30. The Brotherhood has lived in that same house on Johnson Street until 1994, when they moved in the fall to 214 West Ballard Street in Ada. The house is the center of the Brotherhood’s activities, where Brotherhood meetings and parties are held. Epsilon’s Brotherhood meets every Monday night during the school year, except exam weeks. The business of the chapter is done during this time, but it is also the time when the whole Brotherhood can fellowship together. Though a diverse group, the Brothers at Epsilon Chapter have remained united and active in the community and on campus.
