I know that some of the active brothers, and alumni from the past year or two, would be willing to help with this as well. I don't know how plausible that is for actives, since it is an alumni group, but as a brother who will be DKR'ing at the end of this school year I would like to see this succeed. _________________ Quinn Wright

This group is essentially defunct. It was a group of guys around Cleveland who tried to get it going as a, chapter-centric alumni system.
I imagine that the charter "might" transfer to a new group of guys, but I would suggest a regionally based group open to alumni of all chapters (a la SWONKY). _________________ David K. Burden

I still think there is some value in chapter-specific Alumni Associations, especially in terms of relating back to the home chapter and the communication problems that have existed there. Also, while yes, brotherly bonds are supposed to be brotherly bonds, I think there's more willingness in a lot of cases to go along with events and projects when there are more common bonds. And adding the home university in addition to the fraternity is another common bond that can help it succeed.
Not to mention that firing up a regional AA requires finding the interested parties to draw things up. Restarting ECAA just requires finding the warm and willing bodies. It already has a charter. _________________ Tyler A. Betts

Agreed. It's truly up to the guys who want to take on the task. As I understood it, though the new group of "warm bodies" was mainly centered around columbus and could easily default to a regional system anyway. Hence the neo swonky suggestion.
I'd be happy to support an ECAA by attending functions where I can, but would be unable to serve in a leadership position. It could be a great means of giving more recent alumni some leadership experience that might be useful in other contexts later on. _________________ David K. Burden

OK......
I am going to Kick my self in the head for doing this.... but I will stick my arm out there and risk it getting chopped off...
I would love to take on getting this thing back and rolling. Now what I need to know from National Officers is if the charter is still in existence or if it is defunct as well since the organization kinda went defunct. Also I need to know who to contact about getting the information like if there were funds raised or if there are minutes from possibel meetings...
just give me some direction and I will follow....

Contact the National Alumni Secretary (alumniATsigmatheta.org) .
David (Dworkin) Temple was the contact person for version 1.0. He's still in the Cleveland area as far as I know. I think his board name was "space." So you can try to PM him this way as well. _________________ David K. Burden

I'm willing to do whatever I can to help the alumni organization. I won't have a permanent residence until this summer, but I will be moving between Columbus and Ada until then whilst on my rotations. _________________ Seth Campbell
